Blending historical elements with contemporary design

Whilst renovating a 19th century period property, a piece of 1940’s wallpaper, hidden behind the plasterboard of the original chimney, was discovered. Featuring oranges, lemons, and apples arranged in a simple blue bowl alongside blue jugs, it was typical of the style of the era.

This historic find inspired a hand-painted mural, incorporating all the key features of the original design. It now adorns the recessed wall by the original fireplace, the backdrop for repurposed shelving from the property’s original beams and is a unique focal point in the room, seamlessly blending vintage charm with modern aesthetics.
